light and dark

If you look at the dark colors you see one shape. If you look closely at the light area you can see the trumpet shape of a blue morning glory. I love the bright colors of morning glories, the twisted bud as it unwinds and the flower that opens with the sun.

blooming flowers - wild cherries

Spring is my favorite season with all the flowers that bloom. I keep adding more to my garden, and wait to see them bloom. I also try to plant fragrant flowers, the wild cherry hedge along the driveway busts it's buttons every spring perfuming the air with a wonderful grape scent.

reflection . . to see the light . . .old garden chair

The camera records the light values reflected into it's lens, thus capturing the image as a pattern of lights and darks. To See The Light (and dark) of an image is what I record with my camera! The light and dark patterns intrigue me. The kalidoscope form especially delights me allowing the light patterns to be recombined forming new patterns. I love the shapes that form in the middle of my circles/mandalas.

Rain to snow

We had lots of snow this past year, so are not looking forward to much more. The rain is supposed to turn to snow later in the evening and cover the grass. Arid Colorado needs all the moisture we can get even if it falls as snow. The melting ice from earlier in the year made interesting patterns as in the picutre above. Ah, the weather!

Rain showers

We had a nice spring rain which beaded up on a tulip leaf. A little chilly now and snow in the forcast for the foothills. This is spring in Colorado.

beginning

Walking along Cherry Creek in late winter, saw this big clump of cotton wood trees and their reflection in the water. I have been making my nature pictures into kaleidoscopes for about 2 years.
