geranium and bud

More than anything else the colors in this mandala were pleasing  to me.  Just felt calm and soothing to me.  We need something calm and soothing after the several fires that broke out yesterday.  The one in the Black Forest area is burning houses.  The geranium bud is hanging down toward the center, the flower is pointing out toward the sides.

Spring has Sprung!

Everything (or so it seems) has bloomed, that's what a week of above normal temperatures does and of course there is to be a freeze tonight.  Some things are hardy enough to be OK others are not.  Above is a branch of my fragrant white forsythia.  I planted it near my front door so I could get a whiff of the fragrance on my way in the door.  The bush itself is nothing special except when it blooms!  I liked the rays of flowers emanating from the center of the mandala.  I just wish you could smell it.

azalea

The apricot tree out front has burst into bloon because of the warm weather we have been having. The bad part is that more than likely they will freeze before the mature to friut. The azaleas above were from a greenhouse.  I liked the way the flower fills tile/square shape and yet is still a circle.

water droplets

With a water droplet you can get a highlight in a flower, just like you look for one in a good animal picture. This one reminded my of a jewel when I made the circle picture, a sparkly mandala.

poppy

Nature's mandala are flowers. Their pie shaped pieces (petals) surround a center that draws the eye to it. Flowers are designed to draw insects to the center to pollinate the flowers. The bee in the picture had already been to the center and was just leaving.
My flower gardens are popping with blooms spring is such a joyous time in the garden.
